My heart is breaking.
Some of you may know that my brother, Rick Ralph Burgess, was diagnosed with ALS in January of this year.
Very quickly his health has deteriorated. “Lou Gerhigs Disease” is not kind. He can no longer hold his head up, walking is laborious and because his lung capacity is only 37%, he is unable to walk any distance without help. He cannot use his right arm, so dressing, eating and most normal daily tasks require assistance.
It is almost impossible to believe that he is going through this experience–so suddenly and devastatingly. As I watched him do his best to be positive and cling to his Faith, I believed that there must be something I could do to help him.
He has always been closer to me emotionally than any of my siblings. And now, the doctors are saying maybe he has 2 years to live? My Love Language is and has always been FOOD. I know his favorite flavor combo is chocolate and peanut butter. So I ( Ila’s Foods) have created Burgess Butter, a Chocolate & Peanut Butter Spread, for him. I am selling it and donating the proceeds to Rick as he fights for his life, and to ALS to help find a cure.
Rick has always been a generous guy, and he has helped many. Now it is his time to receive help.
